Field Guide

Order Your Copy of the White Tank Mountains Field Guide

Reach for your White Tank Mountains Field Guide when you are out on the trails and want to identify native plants or animals. Karen Krause, local Waddell historian, author and White Tank Mountains Conservancy volunteer, published the pocket guide and has generously donated all proceeds to benefit the Conservancy. The initial printing costs were covered by a grant from Arizona Public Services (APS).

The 100+ page field guide contains 120 beautiful color photographs and short descriptions of the most common species of plants, animals and birds that visitors may encounter in the White Tank Mountains parks. The guide also includes information on the geology and history of the mountain range, as well as desert safety tips.
